When I think about light and shadows I think about the art of life. Although we are often told that the most vibrant of details lie within life's grey areas, I believe that pure light and darkness often hold the key to seeing the full picture. They are ideals, what we strive for, permanently existing in a balance, offering us a flash into the unreachable, yet so close perfection. The light symbolizes peace, harmony, and is often shown to be the spiritual and the divine, it is illumination and intelligence. Darkness often depicted and defined as the very absence of light represents its very opposite. Darkness can swallow one whole, offering insights within one's psyche, a glimpse into one of the most complex emotions felt by humans. Sadness, melancholy, sorrow, and anguish. Although diametrically opposed, they are both keys to the balance of this world. The very core of the universe we live in is in the dichotomy of light and darkness. This balance must be kept at all times, let the world fall to dust.
